
The National Academy for Primary Education (NAPE), under the Diploma in Primary Education (DPEd) Board in Mymensingh, has officially released the Improvement Examination routine for 2026 for students who failed in the 1st Semester Final Examination of the DPEd program but have since been enrolled in the 2nd semester.
This decision follows an earlier notice (Memo No. 38.04.0000.418.18.146.25-376, dated August 30, 2026) sent to all 12 PTIs (Primary Training Institutes) across the country, informing them of the results of the 1st Semester Final Exam and the board’s decision to arrange an Improvement Exam for eligible students.
The Improvement Exam will begin on September 10, 2026, and will be conducted according to the routine published below.

Key Instructions for the Improvement Exam
According to the official notice, the following rules and guidelines will apply during the exam:
- Eligibility: Only students who have been enrolled in the 2nd semester but failed the 1st semester final exam are eligible to sit for this exam. Students who have not been enrolled in the 2nd semester will not be allowed to participate.
- Notification to Students: After receiving the routine, respective PTI Superintendents must inform eligible students in a timely manner through official notice.
- Question Paper Distribution: NAPE will send the question papers for each subject to the designated confidential email of the respective PTI, one hour before the exam begins. The PTI Superintendent will personally operate this email and will be personally responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the question papers.
- Exam Center Preparation: As in previous exams, all necessary preparations — including formation of the exam center management committee, seat plan, and appointment of invigilators — must be properly completed.
- Prohibited Items: Books, notebooks, mobile phones, smart watches, laptops, and other electronic devices are strictly prohibited inside the exam hall.
- Answer Script Coding: After each subject’s exam, answer scripts must be coded using the code number sent by NAPE.
- Sending Answer Scripts: After the exam, sealed answer scripts along with the attendance top sheet must be sent via an insured parcel (worth Tk. 200) to the Exam Controller, DPEd Board, NAPE, Mymensingh.
- Preserving Cut Portions: The cut/torn portion of the answer scripts must be preserved separately and sent in a separate envelope.
- Disciplinary Action: Any form of malpractice, irregularity, or breach of discipline during the exam will result in appropriate action as per DPEd policy.
- No Late Exams: Under no circumstances will failed candidates be given another opportunity after the scheduled exam time has passed. If a student fails again after attending the 1st semester Improvement Exam, no further improvement opportunity will be given — they will be considered as failed.
- No Improvement Exam for 2nd Semester: There is no provision for an Improvement Exam in the 2nd semester.
- Final Decision: This decision is considered final and must be clearly communicated to all students through the respective PTIs.
